Squatting in the Darkness

In the Arctic Myth Den vise Ravn opdager, at den er til, og skaber Himlen, Jorden, Menneskene og alle Jordens Dyr (The wise Raven discovers its own existence and creates the Sky, the Man and all Animals of the Earth) the Raven is travelling through a dark and empty world. 

In the beginning of the story - even before he realizes, he is a raven - he is squatting down in the darkness. For the Raven as a searching and creative figure squatting is a moment of waiting and a position of awareness and readiness. This is where our project takes the beginning:

"He was squatting in the Darkness.

   He was sitting all alone on the ground, when he suddenly became aware and discovered himself as a living being. He did not know where he was; he did not know how he was created. But he was breathing and he had life. He was living. But who was he? A living being, someone alive. He did not understand more than that. Everything around him was darkness, and he could see nothing. Then he touched the surroundings with his hands."
