The BioPol Building is a former fish factory. The building was temporarily - in the late 1990s - used for textile industry. Now it houses a marine laboratory (BioPol), a number of storage rooms and two garages used by local car enthusiasts.

BioPol is a marine biotechnology company. The goal is to improve innovative utilization of marine resources and to develope marketing of marine biotechnological products and services. The small R&D company has six to eight employees.
