In the sea
the seals sniffles, the walrus’ hisses, the whales blows: “Puh – puh – puh!”
Birds are screaming and singing. You hear the wind whistles in the woods, the
hissing and whispering of the leaves, the surf breaks against the
shore.“
In July 2012 Det Perifere Selskab (The Peripheral Society) was at the NES artist residency in Skagaströnd, Iceland, to work on the new project Squatting in the Darkness. The title is inspired by an arctic myth, which we used as a starting point for the development of a performing event and an installation space. This site was used to collect impressions, sketches and thoughts of the process.
